POLICE are appealing for information following a burglary at a bank in Warrington.
The incident took place overnight at Barclays Bank in Lodge Drive in Culcheth.
At around 3.50am yesterday (Friday) the offenders forced entry to the bank and gained access to the ATM where they stole a large quantity of cash from inside. The offenders then fled the scene.
Police have launched an investigation and are currently trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
DC Matt Gagen said: “A number of lines of enquiry are currently being carried out including CCTV enquiries and any relevant forensic enquiries. We are also carrying out house-to-house enquiries in the area.
“We are appealing to anyone in the local community who may have seen or heard anything significant around that time to come forward. We are also appealing to anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously around the bank earlier that day to get in touch.
“The offenders, who were wearing dark clothing, fled the scene shortly after the incident and we are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and may have seen something significant to contact us. Even the smallest amount of information can be useful when piecing together a case.”
Anyone with any information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
