Top 'cellist to visit town

ONE of world’s finest ‘cellists Raphael Wallfisch joins the Northern Chamber Orchestra at the Parr Hall, Warrington, on Thursday April 25.
Raphael will be playing one of the all-time popular works for ‘cello and orchestra – Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme.
The Northern Chamber Orchestra was formed in the 1960s and members are distinguished chamber musicians who regularly appear as soloists and principal players.
The Variations concert will also feature British composer Geoffrey Bush’s Sinfonietta Concertante for ‘Cello, Mozart’s symphonic masterpiece, Symphony no 40 in G minor and Rossini’s String Sonata no 1 in G.
