A new initiative aimed at helping young people explore their future opportunities is launching in Warrington this October.
Vibe Café will open its doors for the first time on Friday 9 October 2026, from 1.30pm to 4pm at the Living Well Hub, providing a welcoming space for young people aged 16 to 24 who are currently not in education, employment or training (NEET).
Delivered by Warrington LiFE, part of Warrington Borough Council, in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and sponsored by Platform Data Centre, Vibe Café will bring together employers, training providers and support organisations under one roof.
Young people attending the launch will have the opportunity to meet a variety of organisations, ask questions, discover training and employment opportunities and find out about the support available to help them move forward. They will also be able to apply for live vacancies on the day.
The event has been designed to offer a relaxed and informal environment, with no expectation for attendees to arrive knowing exactly what they want to do next. Instead, Vibe Café aims to help young people build confidence, make connections and explore the options available to them.
Adding something a little different to the launch, Warrington Wolves Foundation will also unveil its new podcast, Beyond the Game, hosted by Warrington Wolves player Leon Hayes.
The podcast will feature former rugby players sharing their personal experiences of life after the game, including the challenges they have faced, the obstacles they have overcome and the lessons they have learned along the way. Their stories of resilience, change and personal growth reflect the wider ethos of Vibe Café and the support it aims to provide to young people as they consider their own futures.
Cllr Matt Smith, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “Every young person deserves the opportunity to reach their potential and fulfil their ambitions. We know that taking the next step into education, employment or training can sometimes feel daunting, particularly for those who may have faced barriers or setbacks along the way.
“Vibe Café has been created to provide a welcoming and supportive environment where young people can explore opportunities, connect with employers and training providers, and access practical advice tailored to their individual needs. By bringing partners together in one place, we are helping young people build confidence, discover new possibilities and take positive steps towards their future.”
The event is specifically aimed at young people aged 16 to 24 who are currently not in education, employment or training, ensuring support is targeted towards those who may need additional help to reconnect with learning, employment or training opportunities.
Friendly advisers will also be on hand throughout the event to provide practical support, including help with job applications, CV advice and guidance on possible next steps.
Vibe Café is intended to be much more than a one-off event. Following the launch, sessions will take place on the second Friday of every month, with future cafés focusing on different themes and opportunities shaped by the interests and needs of local young people.
