Start your smoke-free future this Stoptober

Residents across Warrington are being encouraged to take the first step towards quitting smoking this October as part of the national Stoptober campaign.

LiveWire’s Smokefree Team will be visiting venues across the borough throughout the month, offering free advice, support and encouragement to people considering giving up smoking.
Stoptober is the UK’s national stop smoking campaign, which supports thousands of people every year to quit. Research shows that people are more likely to successfully stop smoking when they have access to expert support.
Cllr Tony Higgins, Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Social Care, said: “It’s never too late to quit smoking, and taking part in Stoptober with the help of LiveWire could be the start of your journey to quitting for good.
“There are so many benefits to quitting smoking, including breathing more easily, reducing your risk of developing lung cancer and dementia, and saving money too.
“October is the perfect time to begin your smoke-free future.”
