Residents at Westvale House enjoyed a special afternoon when children from Westbrook Old Hall School paid a visit as part of the school’s Kindness Week celebrations.
The children brought specially prepared care packages for residents, giving them the opportunity to meet, chat and spend time together.
The visit brought together two generations, with residents delighted by the thoughtful gifts and the effort the children had made.
There were plenty of smiles and heartfelt thank-yous as the children handed over their care packages and explained which year groups had made the different items.
Westvale House manager Sarah Jones said: “It was a wonderful afternoon and such a lovely example of kindness in action.
“Seeing the smiles on our residents’ faces as they met the children and received their care packages was incredibly heart-warming.
“We are so grateful to the school and all the children for thinking of our residents and taking the time to visit us.”
The afternoon provided an opportunity for residents and pupils to share stories and enjoy each other’s company, with the care home thanking the children and teachers for helping to make the visit a memorable one.
