TWO fire crews were called out on Monday afternoon following reports of a large plume of smoke affecting a road at Culcheth, Warrington.
At 15:13, firefighters from Birchwood and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident near Holcroft Lane in the village.
On arrival, crews located a large controlled burn involving hay. To reduce the smoke hazard and prevent any risk to road users, firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire before leaving the scene.
