Fire crew tackle grass fire near Lymm Golf Course

FIREFIGHTERS were called out last night (Tuesday) following reports of a grass fire near Lymm Golf Course.

At 21:26 one crew was called out to reports of a grass fire on land off Lymmhay Lane near Lymm Golf Course.

Firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish a deep-seated fire near the golf course, shuttling water to the area as needed. Before leaving, the crew checked the ground temperature with a thermal imaging camera.
Earlier in the day at 14:05 one crew from Penketh attended reports of smoke coming from commercial premises on Folly Lane.
Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to check the temperature of wires after they were reported to have been smoking at a commercial premises.
At 13:59 fire fighters wearing breathing apparatus put out a skip fire on Newton Road, Winwick.
