WARRINGTON Wolves strengthened their hold on a Super League play-off spot with a 42-4 thrashing of Bradford.
On their first visit to Odsal in 12 years, the Wolves made light of head coach Sam Burgess’ former side, running in seven tries.
They fell behind to the game’s opening try on 14 minutes, scored by winger Ethan Ryan, but as soon as Matty Ashton got Warrington on the board they never looked back.
Albert Hopoate and Toby King added further first half tries to put them 18-4 to the good.
Bradford’s hopes of a comeback were dashed when Jamie Gill had a try ruled out by the video referee, and they were dealt a double blow when Joe Philbin went over for a try barely 60 seconds later up the other end.
That set up a comfortable final quarter for the Wolves, triggered by Jordan Crowther scoring the fifth try before Hopoate was denied his second by the video referee.
Ewan Irwin sliced through for a try of his own, to add to his perfect seven goal kicks, before Ashton’s second rounded off a good night’s work.
