A charity supporting people living with, or at risk of, heart disease has received a £9,180 donation thanks to a fundraising golf day organised by Wain Homes.

The Warrington-based housebuilder’s annual North West Golf Day, held at Warrington Golf Club in Appleton Thorn, brought together almost 85 golfers from across the property and construction industry. A total of 21 teams took part, with fundraising through team entries, sponsorship and an auction raising funds for NW Hearts Charity.
NW Hearts Charity works to improve access to high-quality cardiac services, facilities and expertise across Greater Manchester. The charity funds projects that enhance patient care and support families, helping provide services and equipment over and above what the NHS can provide.
Richard Chamberlain, managing director of Wain Homes North West, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who supported this year’s golf day, whether by taking part, sponsoring the event or donating auction prizes. Together we’ve raised an outstanding £9,180 for a charity that makes a real difference to people across Greater Manchester.
“Heart disease affects thousands of families across our region, and we’re proud to support NW Hearts Charity as it continues to improve cardiac care and provide vital support for patients and their loved ones.”

The winning team on the day was MSC Joinery, followed by MB Heating and Wigan-based Sandy Lane Plastering.
Cristina Tanner, partnerships manager at NW Hearts Charity, said: “There are around 7.6 million people living with heart and circulatory diseases in the UK, with heart and circulatory diseases accounting for one in four deaths. This figure is even higher in Greater Manchester, where people are more likely to experience the risk factors associated with heart disease.
“Support from businesses like Wain Homes enables us to fund projects that improve cardiac care and enhance the experience of patients and their families. We’re incredibly grateful for this generous donation and the difference it will make across the region.
“As a local charity, we’re able to show exactly how donations are used, and we look forward to updating Wain Homes on the impact of its support.”

Headquartered in Warrington, Wain Homes is currently building new homes at 12 developments across Lancashire, Cheshire, Merseyside, Derbyshire and Shropshire.
