FAMILIES looking for an affordable summer day out are being encouraged to head to Warrington after Gulliver’s World was named the fifth most affordable theme park in the UK in a new study.
The Warrington attraction secured a place in the top five of a nationwide affordability ranking compiled by outdoor toy specialists Outdoor Toys, which compared the cost of visiting some of the country’s best-known family theme parks.
The research assessed factors including admission prices, parking charges, family facilities and overall value for money to identify the attractions offering the best experience without stretching household budgets.
The recognition comes as families continue to look for lower-cost days out during the school summer holidays, with the rising cost of living placing greater emphasis on value.
Designed specifically for children aged between two and 13, Gulliver’s World has long promoted itself as an affordable alternative to some of the UK’s larger thrill-ride resorts. The Warrington park features themed lands including Safari Kingdom, Western World, Smuggler’s Wharf and the Land of Oz, alongside rides, attractions and family entertainment. The resort is also offering discounted summer ticket prices and special family packages throughout the holiday period.
The latest accolade adds to a successful summer for the resort, which recently unveiled two new themed hotels – the Pirate Ship Hotel and the Enchanted Castle Hotel – expanding its range of family short-break accommodation as demand for UK staycations continues to grow.
A spokesperson for Outdoor Toys said the ranking was designed to help families find attractions offering the best balance between cost and entertainment during the busy summer season.
With free parking, regular promotional offers and reduced-price advance booking available, Gulliver’s World continues to position itself as one of the North West’s most accessible family attractions.
The recognition is expected to provide a further boost for visitor numbers over the coming weeks, with thousands of families expected to visit the resort during the peak school holiday period.
Located at Burtonwood, Gulliver’s World has been welcoming visitors to Warrington since 1989 and remains one of the town’s leading leisure attractions, drawing guests from across the North West and beyond.
