Tesco is extending its Kids Eat Free scheme to include weekends for the first time this summer, allowing thousands more Warrington families to enjoy free meals for their children.
The Café and The Coffee Shop scheme will run seven days a week in more than 330 participating Tesco stores, including Warrington Extra, from 25 June until 1 September.
The Café and The Coffee Shop in Tesco will be offering one free Kids Hot Meal Deal, Kids Breakfast or Kids Pick ‘n’ Mix deal with any full price adult purchase when they scan their Tesco Clubcard. The adult purchase could be something as small as an apple costing just 65 pence. And with no limit to the number of Kid’s meals you can redeem, families of all sizes can benefit too.
Popular menu items include breakfast options such as Egg & Soldiers, Beans & Soldiers and Pancakes. Hot main meals include choices such as Omega 3 Fish Fingers, Baked Chicken Strips and Pork Sausages. The Kids Pick ‘n’ Mix includes a sandwich, a drink, two snacks and a piece of fresh fruit, so there’s something healthy and satisfying to feed hungry children from breakfast until dinner.
This summer, Tesco is also cutting the full prices of children’s meals in The Café and The Coffee Shop, supported by the UK Government’s decision to slash VAT across children’s meals, activities, and days out as part of their Great British Summer Savings.
Tesco is also bringing back Free Fruit for Kids for the summer. From 20th July 2026 to 30th August, children will be able to pick up free apples at checkouts in more than 800 large Tesco stores and 77 of its large Express stores. Click & Collect customers will also be given free apples for their children at selected stores.
Through its Free Fruit and Veg for Schools programme, Tesco is also supporting children’s nutrition all year round. This year saw more than 500 schools receive free fruit and veg to help pupils get more of their 5-a-day. Since its inception in 2024, 15.7 million portions of fruit and veg have been donated. The Fruit & Veg for Schools programme, combined with Free Fruit for Kids in stores and Tesco Fruit and Veg Grants, will help the supermarket achieve its ambition of helping one million children get more fruit & veg into their diets.
To help with the cost of the keeping kids entertained and family days out over the summer, customers can exchange their Clubcard vouchers with Tesco Reward Partners, including family favourites such as PizzaExpress and Cineworld.
