ST Matthews’ Pre-School at Stretton has been judged “outstanding” by the education watchdog, Ofsted.
An inspector who visited the pre-school earlier in the summer says the school is “outstanding in all areas”.
She says the pre-school, which is run by a committee of parents and has a staff of seven, is a “friendly and very inclusive setting” with “highly dedicated and experienced staff”.
Safety and safeguarding were praised by the inspector who stated that “expert care is taken to ensure children are kept safe at all times”.
The pre-school currently caters for 35 children aged 2-4, with a maximum of 20 present at any one time.
Ofsted adds: “To further improve the high quality early years provision, the pre-school should consider extending systems for parents and carers to contribute to the ongoing observation and assessment process to inform future planning.”
A spokesperson for the pre-school said; “We are delighted with the result. It is a true reflection of all the hard work and planning which takes place to ensure the children are happy, safe and make excellent progress towards their early learning goals”.
