A SERIES of advice sessions are being held in Warrington to help people take advantage of a free home insulation scheme which ends this year.
Due to a change in government policy free home insulation finishes at the end of the year. Until then a number of companies are offering free insulation to home owners, irrespective of financial circumstances.
Warrington Borough Council’s Domestic Energy Team can offer impartial advice and information about insulating homes.
They will be at the following venues this week:
Today (Tuesday) 10am-12.30pm, Jackson Avenue car park, Culcheth, 1pm-3.30pm, Spar shop, Gorse Covert.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) 10am-3.30pm, Warrington Market.
Thursday August 2, 10am-12.30pm, Lymm Market, 1pm-3.30pm, Co-op, Latchford.
Friday August 3, 10am-3pm, Westbrook Asda.
Cllr David Keane, executive board member for environment and public protection, said: “Fitting insulation in your home has many advantages. It helps the environment and during these financially restrictive times it also helps the home budget go that little bit further by keeping expensive heat in your home.”
Evidence suggests that adequate home insulation could cut fuel bills by up to £250 a year.
