WARRINGTON Hongkongers CIC (WHKERS CIC), in proud partnership with Warrington Market, celebrated the first Warrington Lunar New Year Market 2026.
This landmark event, celebrating the Year of the Horse, marked the first-ever Lunar New Year celebration in the town, curated and organised by the local Hong Kong community.
Centred around the theme of “Cultural Fusion,” the event bridged communities through a shared appreciation of authentic traditions, festive gastronomy, and interactive entertainment.
Warrington South MP Sarah Hall was on hand to join in the fun.
Commenting on the event she said: “A huge thank you to Warrington Hongkongers CIC and Warrington Business Improvement District for organising a fantastic day sharing culture and celebration.
It was such a joy to see our town centre filled with colour, music, food and community spirit as we welcomed the Year of the Horse together.
“The horse symbolises action, resilience and forward motion and that feels fitting for Warrington. We are a town that keeps moving. We look after one another. We build, we grow, we adapt.
“Over recent years, many of our new friends and neighbours have joined us from Hong Kong through the BNO route. You are welcome here. You are part of our community. Warrington is stronger because of you.
“Celebrations like this remind us what belonging really looks like, different traditions, shared values, one town.”

Charlotte Nichols joins in the fun
“It was amazing to see the town centre so packed with people from all backgrounds taking part in the fun! As we begin the Year of the Horse – which signals momentum, bold action, and reinvention – may we all experience a year of blessings, fresh opportunities, personal growth and happiness!”
