WARRINGTON’S Luke Littler produced a dominant semi-final victory over Ryan Searle, where he thrashed ‘Heavy Metal’ 6-1.
Aged just 18, Littler is now just the fourth player in history to make it through to three consecutive World Darts Championship finals, joining Dennis Priestly, Phil Taylor and Gary Anderson.
His main goal now is to join Taylor, Adrian Lewis and Anderson by becoming a back-to-back winner of the Sid Waddell Trophy.
The Warrington teenager averaged 105, hit 10 180s and a high checkout of 110 in his victory over Searle.
‘Heavy Metal’ did well a the start and even had one dart to go 2-1 in front, but it was one-way traffic after.
Speaking to Sky Sports Darts after his victory Littler said:”This is crazy. A few boos, a few cheers but it’s been a good crowd. Big shout out to Paddy Power for blurring the signs after what Ryan said because he’s partially blind in on set.
“I went 1-0 down and was not the happiest. I thought I didn’t play that well. Everyone knows I just want to go 1-0 up, get into that lead.
“I said to myself ‘you will find it’ and it went 1-1, 2-1, 3-1 and so on. Big shout out to Ryan. He’s done amazing this tournament. He can be proud.”
