RISING teenage star half-back Ewan Irwin has signed a five-year contract at Warrington Wolves, committing his future to the club until the end of the 2030 season.
Irwin is regarded as one of the most exciting young playmakers in the country. He made three senior appearances in 2025, including his debut as 18th man against St Helens, becoming the club’s third-youngest debutant of the Super League era. He finished the year with a standout performance away to Hull KR, providing two try assists on his first full senior appearance.
Irwin captained the Wire’s Academy during their unbeaten season, delivering a Man of the Match display in the 32-18 Grand Final victory over Leeds. Across the campaign, he scored 6 tries and 66 goals in 13 Academy matches, and added 3 tries and 38 goals in 9 Reserves appearances. His outstanding year saw him named both Academy Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year.
He also impressed on the club’s recent Academy tour of Australia, producing impressive performances against Penrith Panthers, Gold Coast Titans, and a New South Wales representative side – displays that caught the attention of several big NRL clubs.
The Club are proud to have secured Irwin’s long-term commitment, retaining one of Super League’s brightest young talents.

Ewan Irwin said: “I’m glad to have committed my future to the Club and I’m really excited for the challenges ahead.
“It’s a competitive environment, and that’s exactly where you want to be. The Academy and Reserves level is very strong, but this is a step up now into the first team, and I’m looking forward to what’s next.
“I want to take it game by game, put my best foot forward, and see where it takes me.”
Warrington Wolves Head Coach Sam Burgess: “I’m really excited Ewan’s committed his future to the club for the next five years. He’s shown great potential and leadership with the U18s and Reserves last year. Hopefully, he continues with his progression next season and beyond. Above all else, he’s an outstanding young man with a bright future ahead of him.”
