Homes England is launching a third phase of engagement for new homes at South East Warrington.
The site, which is allocated within Warrington Borough Council’s Local Plan, will deliver 4,200 new homes set across six new neighbourhoods. It will also deliver a range of community infrastructure including schools, local centres and leisure facilities.
Residents are invited to attend one of the upcoming drop-in events to learn more about the plans and speak to the project team:
- 3–7pm, Friday 14 November – Appleton Parish Hall, Dudlow Green Road, Appleton, WA4 5EQ
- 1–5pm, Wednesday 19 November – Olde Barn, Grappenhall Community Centre, Bellhouse Lane, WA4 2SG
- 3–6pm, Thursday 20 November – St Thomas Church Hall, Ellesmere Road, Stockton Heath, WA4 6DS
- 10am–2pm, Saturday 22 November – The Garden Suite, Events Centre, The Park Royal Hotel, Stretton, WA4 4NS
In addition to the in-person events, people can visit www.southeastwarrington.co.uk to view the documents and share feedback. The consultation is open until 15 December 2025.
This latest round of engagement will focus on the draft Development Framework proposals. The Development Framework is not a planning application, but it does provide an overall vision, plans and key principles for how the site could come forward and will help shape future planning applications, which will be subject to further engagement. The proposals have been informed by feedback gathered during the earlier stages of engagement, and Homes England is now inviting local residents to share their views on the Framework proposals before finalising the document and submitting the Development Framework to Warrington Borough Council for agreement in Spring 2026.
Simon Herring, Northern Development Director, Homes England said: “South East Warrington represents an opportunity to meet local housing need by creating a series of well-connected and inclusive neighbourhoods. Since our initial engagement with the community in 2024 we have received a significant amount of feedback and this has helped to shape the draft proposals that we are now sharing with the community.
“We look forward to receiving further feedback from local people, before we finalise the Development Framework ahead of its submission to the Council for agreement next year.”
