WARRINGTON Wolves’ youngsters Josh and Jake Thewlis picked up a hat-trick of awards at the club’s end-of-season dinner and presentation night at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Older brother Josh picked up the “Ken Kelly Player of the Year” award, selected by Sam Burgess and the coaching staff, while also being named “Players’ Player of the Year” in recognition from his teammates for standout performances week in, week out.
Younger brother Jake collected the newly named “Lance James Young Player of the Year” award presented in memory of the former long-standing club director.
There was also special recognition for the fantastic work Matty Ashton has done with a number of the Warrington Wolves’ Community projects this year, while Luke Yates received the Vice President’s accolade after his consistent performances through the middle this season.
There was also an emotional presentation to club legend Stef Ratchford following his retirement after 14 years of loyal service at the club.
While Head Coach Sam Burgess talked about a disappointing season on the field, he said the display at Hull KR in the last game of the season showed a promising future, with eleven home-grown players in the 18-man squad.
Meanwhile, the club is looking forward to a landmark 150th anniversary season next year, with the proud record of playing every season in the top flight.
