Bus interchange closures overnight for resurfacing works

WARRINGTON Bus Interchange is to temporarily close overnight starting tomorrow, Wednesday, to allow for essential resurfacing.

Beginning on Wednesday, 10 September, for up to two weeks, the works, which are funded by a central government bus grant, will take place between 9.45 pm and 5 am to minimise disruption to passengers and services.
The resurfacing project will create a smoother surface at the interchange, improving passenger comfort.
To help passengers navigate the temporary changes, daily signage and maps will be displayed at the interchange, directing users to nearby alternative bus stops.

While this resurfacing work happens, preparations will also be put in place for the future change from numbered bays to letters. New passengers in particular have expressed confusion in distinguishing between bus service numbers and bay numbers, and the council is addressing this.
The new letters will be painted on the tarmac at the interchange as part of the resurfacing, ready for the full switchover from numbers to letters in the near future.
The council apologises for the short-term inconvenience while this work is carried out.
If you are getting the bus after 9.45 pm, please check the signage at the interchange for details of the alternative bus stop for your journey. You can also get this information from the council’s website.
