WARRINGTON Wolves’ painful end to the season continued as they were beaten 34-12 at home by Leigh Leopards.

Leigh’s first win at Warrington in more than 38 years sent Sam Burgess’ side to a sixth defeat in seven games, at the end of a week where a club statement confirmed Burgess would be remaining as coach for 2026.

Tries by two former Warrington players, Keanan Brand and Matt Davis, had Leigh 12-0 up at half-time.

And they stretched that advantage to 28-0 in the second half as Brand added his second try to scores from Umyla Hanley and Bailey Hodgson.

Warrington did at least get on the board through Toby King and Josh Thewlis, enabling Stefan Ratchford to mark his final home game before retirement with two conversions.

Brand had the final say though, grabbing his hat-trick late on.
