POLICE have served a notice on travellers situated on the Bennett Recreation Ground at Padgate, ordering the encampment to move on tomorrow, Tuesday.
The encampment of five caravans arrived last Monday, August 11, and is one of four encampments currently in the Warrington area.
Police have today moved to reassure residents that they are dealing with the issue.
A spokesperson said: “We are aware of local concerns and how this has caused some disruptions to residents. To reassure you, the police have served a section 60C notice under the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, which will require the encampment to move by tomorrow morning.
“Anyone who has any concerns please contact your local beat team through the Cheshire Police website. ”
Meanwhile, an encampment of 12 caravans has also been reported on the The Old Iceland Depot, at Woolston. The encampment arrived on August 14. The landowner has instructed bailiffs
An encampment of six caravans has also been reported at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub and is awaiting a court order.
Two caravans have also been reported on the privately-owned land at the Car Park in Fortress Boulevard and is awaiting a landowner decision.
