Up to six weeks of road closures scheduled for Bewsey & Whitecross

UP to six weeks of road and footpath closures are scheduled to start on various roads in Bewsey and Whitecross, Warrington, in early October.

The restrictions are required for road or footway surfacing.

Warrington Borough Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce the following:
Prohibition of Driving & Clearway: Entire lengths of road: Bagot Avenue; Bostock Street; Cartwright Street; Wellfield Street; Boteler Avenue; Haryngton Avenue; Lewis Avenue; Lilford Avenue; Lostock Avenue; Massey Avenue; Norreys Avenue; Trafford Avenue.
The Order will be effective from 6th October 2025. The restrictions are for a period of 6 weeks, between 8:30am and 5:30pm, however, will be in place as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.
The alternative routes will be as follows: Bagot Avenue via Troutbeck Avenue, Delves Avenue, Haryngton Avenue and vice versa; Bostock Street via Collin Street, Lovely Lane, St. Barnabas Place and vice versa; Cartwright Street via Collin Street, Lovely Lane, St. Barnabas Place and vice versa; Wellfield Street via Lexden Street, Lovely Lane, Radnor Street and vice versa; Haryngton Avenue via Delves Avenue, Troutbeck Avenue, Bagot Avenue and vice versa; Lilford Avenue via Lodge Lane, Troutbeck Avenue, Longshaw Street and vice versa; Lostock Avenue via Troutbeck Avenue, Longshaw Street, Lilford Avenue and vice versa; Massey Avenue via Lewis Avenue and vice versa; Norreys Avenue via Troutbeck Avenue, Yardley Avenue, Lilford Avenue and vice versa; Trafford Avenue via Troutbeck Avenue, Lodge Lane, Lilford Avenue and vice versa.
