Change of name for local firm

WARRINGTON-based gluten and wheat free food supplier, Nutrition Point, has announced the change of its company name to Dr Schär UK – and is promising an exciting year ahead for the company.
Nutrition Point, which has been based in Thelwall for more than 13 years, is changing its name to match that of its parent company, Dr Schär, at a time when the business is diversifying into new sectors of the gluten free market.
Managing director Bob Trice said: “Nutrition Point has been part of the Dr Schär group for more than a decade and it’s a logical step for our name to change to reflect this.
“The company has a strong focus on innovation, quality, research and development. It provides great-tasting gluten free foods which are sold globally and are developed by consumer driven research – qualities we’ve been renowned for as Nutrition Point for many years.”
Working more closely with Dr Schär colleagues overseas will also mean that the company is able to give a greater focus to sharing best practice, developing a global view of trends and innovation, and developing new products which continue to drive the UK gluten free sector forward.
Mr Trice added: “It’s a tremendously exciting time for us. We’ve just launched our gluten free foodservice range under our DS-gluten free brand, which has opened up a whole new revenue stream for the company. It has also helped us to engage restaurateurs and other catering professionals to help them see the massive potential audience they could be welcoming through their doors by making a few small changes to their menu.
“Although we can’t say too much now, there are other plans in the pipeline which I’m certain will make people sit up and look at the gluten free market very differently.”
Dr Schär Group, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, employs more than 400 people across Europe, including in its three gluten free food manufacturing sites in Italy and Germany.
