LATCHFORD Albion head coach Martyn Ellis has been appointed to the coaching staff of England Community Lions RLFC as a development coach.
The role will see Ellis combine his Albion duties with working alongside the head coaches aiding the development of players as they strive for international honours
Ellis said “ I am looking forward to getting involved at the soonest opportunity, and hopefully assisting players to make that step from club to country, as well as working with some really experienced coaches, which will also benefit myself in my coaching journey.
“I genuinely can’t wait to get started. The new structure is really focused on utilising the talent which is out there in the community game, and I hope to be able to play a positive start within this group.”
In other news, Latchford have scheduled their home game against Blackbrook on Saturday August 20 as “past players day”.
With only two regular home fixtures remaining it gives the opportunity for former players to have the annual get together, as well as watching the current crop take to the field.
