A CELEBRITY soccer match is set to take place in Warrington featuring the stars of hit TV soap Hollyoaks.
The game between Hollyoaks and a Warrington Town XI will take place at Cantilever Park on Sunday March 27.
It is being organised by Pete Barratt from Big Red Events with the main aim of raising funds for the Broomfields Youth Project and Warrington Town Football Club.
Since October 2009 Broomfields Youth Project has gone from strength to strength. Set up to address the anti-social behaviour issues in the Warrington South area, the project is managed by Bridgewater Churches Together. The project started with small numbers of youths playing football on the pitches and has developed significantly over the past six months.
There are now up to 130 young people aged 12 to 17 playing football. The partners involved in the project are Cheshire Police, Bridgewater Churches Together, Youth For Christ, Warrington Borough Council and Bridgewater High School.
On the day, the gates will open at 12:00 noon with a childrens football match kicking off at 12:30pm. There will be plenty of things going on around the ground during the day with raffles, auction, food stalls, music and childrens rides all available.
Admission prices are £6 each or you can get a family ticket for 2 adults and 2 children for £20. A VIP package is available at £30 for the day including an exclusive VIP area, champagne on arrival, meet and mingle with the stars of Hollyoaks, meal prepared by a specialist chef from Su Casa, wine included on the table and exclusive picture opportunities
It is the second time Warrington Town have hosted Hollyoaks, with Warrington winning the last encounter on penalties!
