THE Kraken, a four-piece jazz fusion band based in Northwich, is to stage an open-air concert at Grappenhall Heys Walled Garden, Warrington on Saturday, July 10.

Promising a wide range of music from John Coltrane to Nina Simone and Pearl Bailey, the group will play from 7pm to 10pm.
Tickets are £15 from www.eventbrite.co.uk and members of the audience are invited to bring their own food, drink, rugs, deckchairs, etc.

The Kraken – who take their name from a legendary sea monster said to appear off the coasts of Norway – is gaining a formidable reputation for their “far out” music.
