POLICE seized three rifles and other weapons following a raid on a cannabis farm at Orford, Warrington.

At around 3pm on Friday 13 May police executed a warrant at an address on Long Lane in Orford. A small cannabis farm and three rifles were located inside the property.
A 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivating a cannabis plant and possession of an offensive weapon.
He has since been released under investigation.

The warrant was executed by the North Neighbourhood team.

The Offensive Weapons Act 2019 makes it an offence to possess a variety of weapons even in private.

Police say weapons like these can end up in the wrong hands so it’s important you check your attics/sheds and discard (safely) anything that may fall foul of the law.

As part of #OperationSceptre, police will be collecting any unwanted knives at various locations throughout Warrington this week.
