Albion suffer heavy defeat at hands of league leaders

LATCHFORD Albion fell to a heavy 46-0 defeat when they travelled to undefeated league leaders Ashton Bears.
It was a tough scoreline for coach Martyn Ellis to digest as Albion never gave up, but lacked the experience of an Ashton side, who have consistently been in the upper echelons of the Premier Division in recent seasons.
The visitors’ cause was not helped when forward Matty Connelly, suffered a badly broken arm, meaning some members of the pack had to play extended minute. The hosts took full advantage of this to give the scoreline a very one sided look to it.
Despite the result, Latchford still sit in fifth place, with three victories in their opening seven fixtures, showing they are a competitive side in their first season back in the Premier division.
The chance to get back to winning ways continues this Saturday when Albion host Shevington Sharks at the ASICS Victoria Park Arena, Kick off 2.30pm
