Former Mayor Jeff Richards (pictured right) will be contesting the seat for Labour while the Lib Dems will be represented by Ann Raymond.
Former Coldstream Guard Lance Reah will represent the Conservatives while Lyndsay McAteer will be standing for the Green Party.
Local resident John Mullhall will be standing as an independent.
The by-election will take place on Thursday December 9.
