DISCOUNT food retailer Aldi is revealing plans to open a new store on the Gemini Retail Park at Warrington.

The proposed store will – subject to planning consent – replace the Arnold Clark dealership off Europa Boulevard.

As part of its commitment to community consultation, Aldi is inviting local residents to take part in a virtual public exhibition by visiting the dedicated project website at aldiconsultation.co.uk/geminiretailpark.

The virtual exhibition will run from Monday January 24 until Monday February 7.

Residents will be able to view the plans and provide feedback via an online questionnaire. Bryn Richards, regional property director for Aldi, said: “We are delighted to announce our proposals for Warrington. We are aware of how popular our existing store in Fordton Retail Park is and we would like to provide local Aldi customers with a new store in Warrington to continue to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

“Our new store will help to meet the demand for Aldi in the area whilst continuing to save our customers time and money.

“We invite the community to get involved in the public consultation by visiting our project website or calling the information line.

”If approved, the proposal would create up to 40 new full and part-time jobs at the Aldi store alone, which will be paid at an industry-leading rate of £9.55 per hour as a minimum. There would also be further employment opportunities during construction and via the supply chain. As well as attending the virtual exhibition by visiting the project website, people can also provide their feedback by contacting the project team on Freephone information line number 0800 298 7040
