COVID-19 infection rates rise above national average with 121 new cases

COVID-19 infection rates in Warrington have now risen above the national average with 121 new cases, while hospital inpatient numbers have also risen slightly.

The 121 (158) new cases reported by Public Health England, take the total number of cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 38,516 (38,395).

Infection rates in Warrington have risen again to 933 (902) – 445.6 (430.8) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period which have now risen above the national average of 438.9 (439.4) per 100,000, which have fallen slightly again.

While no further hospital deaths have been reported, inpatient numbers have risen from 19-21 while a total of nine patients have been discharged in the past 24 hours.
