LYMM-based Rainbow Day Nursery, which has been family-owned for more than 30 years, has been sold to corporate buyer Atherton House.

The nursery was established by the owner’s family in 1990 and is registered for 72 children aged 3 months to 5 years of age.

In its 30 years of operation, the nursery has cemented an enviable reputation in the local area for providing the highest quality of childcare. Due to this, the setting received an assessment of “Good” from Ofsted in its most recent inspection and has a 5-star food hygiene kitchen, providing excellent nutrition to children in their care.
Additionally, many members of the staff have been with the business for 10 to 20 years, a testament to the well-run setting and the enjoyment of providing children with a stimulating environment.
With the setting being within the client’s family for over 30 years, they wished to undertake their well-deserved retirement and instructed Redwoods Dowling Kerr in the sale.
The excellent reputation of the setting, combined with the expert marketing campaign, generated high levels of interest in the setting, with 10 viewings.
The buyer, corporate operator Atherton House, was attracted to the setting due to the family nature of the business. They have four additional settings and decades of experience within the sector, highlighting them to be a suitable buyer for Rainbow Day Nursery.
Sales Negotiator Natasha Satterthwaite said: “I am delighted for both parties in the sale. I would like to wish them both the best of luck with their future endeavours”.
