Army bomb disposal team called out after WW2 artillery shell found at farm

ARMY bomb disposal experts were called out earlier today after a WW2 artillery shell was found at a farm off Stockton Lane, Grappenhall.

At around 2pm, police closed off Stockton Lane while the army explosive ordnance disposal team (EOD) attended at the scene following the discovery of the artillery shell on a local farm.

There was a similar incident in April last year which resulted in a controlled explosion being carried out.
