SIR Thomas Boteler Church of England High School is beyond delighted and immensely proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the Class of 2026, who have secured the best set of GCSE results in the history of the school.

Headteacher Beverley Scott-Herron says: “This is a truly exceptional achievement and one that reflects not only the academic success of our young people, but also their resilience, determination, character and unwavering commitment to their goals. Every single member of our Year 11 cohort should feel enormously proud of what they have accomplished.
“Our students have achieved personal and academic milestones, overcome challenges and taken another significant step towards their future dreams and ambitions. They leave us knowing that they possess something far more valuable than a set of examination grades: the confidence, knowledge, skills and determination to shape their own futures and achieve whatever they aspire to achieve.
“The Class of 2026 has performed exceptionally well and their efforts have paid off. Behind every grade is a story of hard work, perseverance and personal growth, and we are incredibly proud of every one of those stories.
“These results represent a remarkable continuation of our school’s consistent positive trajectory, with outcomes improving year on year in the overwhelming majority of subjects. The progress we have made is a powerful testament to the relentless focus, dedication and professionalism of our staff, alongside the extraordinary commitment of our young people.
“The improvements we have made in teaching and learning over recent years are now clearly reflected in what our students are achieving. However, while systems, strategies and high-quality teaching provide the foundations for success, it is our young people themselves who have made this achievement possible and they need all the credit.
Throughout the year, our Year 11 students demonstrated an inspirational level of determination, maturity and resilience. They challenged themselves, supported one another, responded to setbacks and continued to move forward when things became difficult. They never gave up.
And that is something worth celebrating far beyond examination results.

Success Looks Different for Everyone
“While there have been many outstanding academic performances, we firmly believe that success is personal.
“For some students, success means achieving exceptional grades. For others, it means exceeding their own expectations, overcoming a particular challenge, securing the next step on their chosen “pathway or simply knowing that they gave everything they could.
“Every young person has travelled a different journey, and every achievement deserves recognition.
“Over the coming weeks, we will continue to celebrate and recognise the individual accomplishments of our students, ensuring that every member of the Class of 2026 knows their worth and just how proud we are of them.
An Absolute Credit to the Boteler Family
“Our young people are an absolute credit to our Boteler Family.
“For five years, we have had the privilege of watching them grow from children into confident, capable and increasingly independent young adults. We have seen their personalities develop, their talents emerge, their ambitions grow and their confidence strengthen.
“It has been an absolute privilege to play even a small part in their educational journey.
“Throughout their time at Sir Thomas Boteler, they have worked with us, trusted us and, most importantly, understood that we believed in them. Their results are testimony to the dedication and commitment they have shown, but also to the strength of the relationships that exist across our school community.
“They have demonstrated that when faced with obstacles, they can find solutions; when faced with challenges, they can persevere; and when faced with uncertainty, they can find the courage to keep moving forward.
“These are qualities that will serve them throughout the rest of their lives.
High Expectations. High Aspirations. High Standards.
“At the heart of everything we do are our High Expectations, High Aspirations and High Standards.
“These principles have shaped the culture of our school and have challenged our young people to believe that they can achieve more, aim higher and become the very best versions of themselves.
“Our faith in our students and in our school community is stronger than ever.
‘Through God, We Care.’
“These words are not simply a motto. They represent our commitment to every young person entrusted to our care. We never underestimate the responsibility we carry as educators. We know that the work we do has the potential to influence not only examination outcomes, but the life chances, confidence, opportunities and futures of the young people we serve.
That responsibility drives us to continually improve, continually challenge and continually believe.
The Beginning of Something Extraordinary
“Today is a moment to celebrate, but it is also a moment to look forward.
“The Class of 2026 now stands at the beginning of a new and exciting chapter. Whether they are progressing to sixth form, college, apprenticeships, employment or another pathway, we want every one of them to move forward with confidence, courage and ambition.
“They should leave us knowing that they have already demonstrated something incredibly important:
“When they work hard, believe in themselves and refuse to give up, they can achieve far more than they ever imagined.
“Their GCSE results are a wonderful achievement, but they are only the beginning.
“To the Class of 2026: you have made us exceptionally proud. You have worked incredibly hard, you have risen to the challenge and you have achieved beyond expectations.
“Celebrate your success. Be proud of yourselves. Thank those who have supported you. And then look ahead with confidence, because your future is waiting.
“Believe in yourselves. Believe in your potential. Believe in what is possible.
“You will always be part of the Boteler Family, and we will always be proud to have been part of your journey.
“Congratulations, Class of 2026. You have truly earned this moment.
“High Expectations. High Aspirations. High Standards – you HAVE succeeded!”
