Warrington residents are being invited to find out more about healthy travel choices at a special town centre drop-in session.
Starting on Monday 13 April, 9.30am-12.30pm, the council’s travel choices team is hosting regular active travel support sessions at the Living Well Hub, Horsemarket Street, offering residents practical advice on active, sustainable, and cost-effective ways of travelling around.
Part of the hub’s ongoing focus on healthy lifestyles, the event will see the travel choices team on-site throughout the morning. From commuters looking for new ways to travel to work to travel options for the school journey and residents attending medical appointments or community events, the team will be on hand to show how easy it is to integrate sustainable travel into daily life.
Visitors to the stand will be able to find out about the wide range of support designed to make travel choice journeys the “go-to” option for travelling. Information will be available on:
- Cycling support: Discover the Warrington Cycle Hub, the one-stop shop for maintenance and advice, and the new Cycle Station, providing high-quality, secure parking in the heart of the town.
- Warrington Car Club: Learn about the borough’s pay-as-you-go electric car scheme, offering a flexible and eco-friendly alternative to private car ownership.
- Public transport connectivity: Get the latest updates on bus and rail services and see how public transport, cycling facilities and electric cars for hire all work together to make sustainable travel in Warrington more convenient than ever.
The event is specifically designed for local people seeking advice on travel for employment, school, leisure, or medical purposes. It also offers a great opportunity for those already visiting the Living Well Hub for health sessions to see how active travel can support their long-term wellbeing.
Council Leader and cabinet member for transport, Cllr Hans Mundry, said: “We’re working hard to raise awareness of the range of travel options available to Warrington residents. We want to make journeys in our borough healthier, easier, and more accessible for everyone. If you’d like practical support, advice, and information about getting around our borough, come along to the hub and meet the travel choices team.”
