WARRINGTON Wolves’ fixture details for their Challenge Cup quarter-final clash with Leigh Leopards have now been confirmed.
Wire will lock horns with their near neighbours at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Saturday, 11th April, kick-off 5:30 pm. It will be the second time the sides meet, at the same venue, in the space of a week, after their scheduled Super League clash in Rivals Round.
A spot in the last four is on the line after Sam Burgess’ side dispatched Goole Vikings in the last 16 and the Leopards defeated Hull FC 16-6 at the Leigh Sports Village.
It’s set to be another huge game for the Wire, who will be hoping to go just 80 minutes from a spot at Wembley Stadium in May’s showpiece final.
Ticket details will be announced on the club website www.warringtonwolves.com soon.
Meanwhile, Toafofoa Sipley will be missing for six to eight weeks with a knee and calf problem.
The 31-year-old has made a brilliant start to his career in primrose and blue, making a real impact from the bench in his first three Betfred Super League games.
However, following a collision in last weekend’s Challenge Cup clash with Goole Vikings, scans have confirmed Sipley will be missing for the foreseeable future with a knee and calf problem.
“Toff will be eight weeks – it was a bad tackle,” Burgess stated in his pre-match press ahead of these weekend’s game agaib=nst Castleford Tigers.
“He hurt his knee in the tackle that was a bit of a hip drop, so he was carrying that and then pulled his calf.
“It’s his left knee and his right calf but it is what it is – he’s okay about it and has just got to get his head down.
“He was just finding his feet over here and the fields were getting a bit drier so he was looking forward to that, but he’ll be okay and it’s not the end of the world.
“It’s six to eight weeks, but he’s a big fella so we’re planning for eight.”
