PLANNING chefs have been asked to approve temporary additional storage facilities at Warrington Rowing Club.
The proposal is to increase number of containers on the club car park, on the northern bank of the Mersey near Kingsway, from two to three.
Planning officers say planning consent for the existing two containers on the site expired in January and the proposal is for permission for these facilities, plus one additional container, for three years.
The club has been on the site since 1985 and has a strong membership, being particular active in providing sporting activity through its “Warrington Youth Rowing” initiative designed to introduce a wide range of young people in Warrington to the sport of rowing.
The proposal is to use the three containers for temporary storage while the club arranges funding for permanent extension to their property.
Nearby residents have been consulted and no objections received.
The scheme will be considered by the borough council’s development management committee.

This is a wonder club doing great work in many ways with their limited resources that they fully make the most of and bring so much to the health and wellbeing of their members It is very well run by enthusiasts and they look after the site which blends into it’s surroundings.
