POLICE are seeking witnesses following a collision involving a 19-year-old woman and a car at Lymm on Sunday afternoon.

Shortly after 5pm on Sunday 15 March, police were called to reports of a collision on Cherry Lane, Lymm.

Officers attended and found there had been a collision between a white Peugeot Allure and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a 19-year-old woman, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital; her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 2289471.

Local Cllr Graham Gowland, who represents Lymm South, said: “My thoughts are with those affected. At this stage we don’t know the circumstances of what happened, so it would be wrong to speculate. However, this crossing has seen serious incidents in the past, and I have personally observed drivers failing to stop even when people are already on the crossing.
“I’m not a highways engineer and I haven’t identified any obvious faults with the crossing or its design, but I will be asking for it to be reviewed to ensure everything possible is being done to keep people safe.”
