POLICE were called to the car park of the Station House Pub at Padgate, Warrington, earlier today, Monday, following concerns for the welfare of a man.
Sadly a 69-year-old local man was found dead at the scene.
The Station House Pub posted on social media: “Today is a very sad day for all of us here.
“We have lost a much loved and valued customer who has been part of our pub family for many years. They will be truly missed by our team and by so many who shared a chat and many laughs with them over the years.
“Our hearts go out to their family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. We kindly ask that their privacy is respected.”
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “At around 7am today, police were called to concerns for the welfare of a 69-year-old man on Station Road, Warrington.
“Officers attended and sadly the man was found dead at the scene.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious, and a case file will be prepared for the coroner.”
