THREE community projects in the Warrington area have shared funding from a local homebuilder.
Anwyl Homes invited good causes near its Eagles Green development to apply for grants via its ‘Love From Anwyl’ initiative.
The beneficiaries of the initial round of funding were Cromwell Athletic JFC, Sankey Valley St. James Primary School and Westbrook Library Friends CIC.
Anwyl head of regional marketing Phoebe Davies said: “We were really pleased by the response we received when we invited the Warrington community to apply for support Love from Anwyl. The breadth and volume of applications we received demonstrates why it’s a great place to live and this meant that the panel had some difficult decisions to make when allocating the funding.
“We’ve tried to help a diverse range of applicants to have the greatest impact across the neighbourhood. The under 11 Spitfires at Cromwell Athletic JFC are using their share for new kits; Sankey Valley St. James Primary School are improving their outside space with their funding; and we’re helping Westbrook Library Friends CIC with the cost of running a dementia café.”
Love From Anwyl is a voluntary scheme, attached to 157 homes being built across 12.6 acres of land phase five of the successful Omega redevelopment of the former 600-acre RAF Burtonwood airbase on the north-west edge of Warrington.
Homes will include improved accessibility requirements and electric vehicle charging points, with heating and hot water to be provided via air source heat pumps.
