Warrington residents looking to build confidence in spoken English can now access community-based ESOL Conversation Classes, delivered by Warrington & Vale Royal College as part of its commitment to widening participation and supporting the local communities it serves.

The sessions focus on practical, everyday English, to help students communicate with confidence at home, at work, and in daily life. Designed to be friendly and supportive, the classes offer a welcoming environment to improve their speaking and listening skills.

Conversation classes will be delivered at the following:

  • Westbrook Library, Warrington – Friday 27th February to Friday 27th March (specifically for Cantonese speakers)
  • United Reformed Church, St Helens – Friday 27th February to Friday 27th March

By offering classes directly within local neighbourhoods, the college continues to break down barriers to education and ensure learning is accessible to all.
Tim Evans, the college’s Curriculum Manager for ESOL, says: “We’re looking forward to delivering these conversation classes in the community, offering a welcoming environment where people can practice, connect, and build essential skills. We’re especially excited to see the positive impact these sessions will have across Warrington and St Helens.”
Those interested in taking part are required to complete a brief assessment before enrolling, to help ensure the course is the right fit for their learning level. If you are interested in attending one of these conversation classes, please contact the college’s Learner Services Team on 01925 494 400 or learner.services@wvr.ac.uk
