LYMM Oughtrington Park Cricket Club has acquired a second ground – enabling it to add an extra senior team in the Cheshire League.

After 142 years t at their Oughtrington Lane ground , the club has secured access to a second ground adjacent to the clubhouse,
This enables the club to add one more senior team into the league and, generally, to offer much more cricket playing opportunities to junior, women’s and mixed senior teams.
To support this expansion, the club will add new changing facilities and refurbish the existing clubhouse. The refurbishment includes improved changing rooms, umpires room, disabled access and enhanced social areas.

Club chair Steve Gladwin said: “As a result of an agreement with Lymm High School, we have jointly developed a new cricket square and outfield conveniently located near to our clubhouse. This, and enhancements to our changing facilities, enables us to offer our growing junior and senior sections much more opportunity to play cricket on a professionally maintained ground.
“This development is an important part of our plan to offer cricket fans in Lymm and district an improving availability and standard of cricket at Oughtrington Lane . New players are very welcome.”
In November, the Cheshire Cricket League awarded Lymm the title “most improved cricket ground in Cheshire#” in recognition of the improvements the club had made to its ground over many years.
