Warrington Male Voice Choir announces new rehearsal venue

0

AFTER almost 40 years of rehearsing at Alford Hall, Warrington Male Voice Choir is embarking on an exciting new chapter at St James Church.

As Warrington’s oldest Male Voice Choir, and one of the oldest in Britain, the Choir is pleased to announce a move to a new rehearsal venue that will support its continued musical development.

Choirs know that acoustics play a vital role in rehearsal quality. While Alford Hall has been an excellent general venue over the years, it was not designed specifically for choral singing. To enable the Choir to continue improving and performing at the highest standard, a space with suitable acoustics was essential. Other important considerations included accessibility for all members, ample parking, and a location close to the Choir’s current base.
The Choir is delighted to confirm that they have found a venue that meets all of these requirements.
From Monday 12 January 2026, Warrington Male Voice Choir will rehearse at St James Church, Wilderspool Causeway, Latchford, Warrington. Rehearsals will continue to take place on Mondays and Thursdays from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, and all existing contact details remain unchanged.
Warrington Male Voice Choir will maintain strong links with Alford Hall, continuing to hold regular members’ social evenings there, and many members will renew their club memberships independently.
The Choir would like to extend its sincere thanks to Alford Hall Sports & Social Club for their many years of support and hospitality.
New members are always welcome, and January is an ideal time to join. Anyone interested is invited to attend a rehearsal at St James Church or to contact the Choir Secretary, Amanda Davies, for further information at secretarywmvc@hotmail.co.uk
