Road closure confirmed to allow installation of high voltage cable

A road closure of up to four weeks has been confirmed at Lymm to allow Scottish Power to install a new High Voltage Cable.

Work is due to start on January 5th for up to four week, as and when signed on site.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which is as follows: –
Prohibition of Driving: Cherry Lane from its junction with Elm Tree Road to its junction with Hardy Road; Elm Tree Road from its junction with Church Road to its junction with Cherry Lane.
Temporary Suspension of existing Order: The Borough of Warrington (Various Roads) (Consolidation of One-Way Traffic) Order 1976 in so far as it relates to the Second Schedule as follows: Cherry Lane, Lymm (B5158) – From Booths Hill Road (A56) to Elm Tree Road.
The Order will be effective from 5th January 2026 for 4 weeks, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Church Road, Booths Hill Road, Camsley Lane, Stockport Road, Knutsford Road, Cliff Lane and vice versa. The restrictions are required to allow Scottish Power to install a new High Voltage Cable.
It is part of a programme of works allowing Scottish power to improve the local network.
