Flood alert for Mersey Estuary with flooding likely at Arpley Bridge

A flood alert has been issued by the Environment Agency with flooding likely at Arpley Bridge, Warrington, during the early hours of Saturday morning, December 6th.

A Flood alert is in force for the Mersey Estuary at Warrington due to a high tide tonight.
Flooding is possible for: Areas at risk include Fiddlers Ferry, Eastford Road, Arpley Bridge, Knutsford Road, Howley, Kingsway North and Westy
High tides overnight may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible from 00:00 to 01:30 on 6/12/2025.
Levels in the Mersey Estuary will be high as a result of the high tide from 00:00 until 01:30 on 6/12/25.
The Environment Agency is forecasting minor impacts at the below locations;

Fiddlers Ferry between 00:00 and 00:45,
Eastford Road between 00:15 and 01:00,
Arpley Bridge Between 00:30 and 01:15.

There is likely to be flooding on Arpley Road under Arpley Bridge.
Locations most affected will be low-lying land and roads near rivers or on the coast. The Environment Agency is monitoring rainfall and river levels.
Avoid using low-lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses.
