CHRISTMAS started early for residents and staff at Brookfield Care Home in Lymm. They enjoyed an afternoon of festive music from members of the Lymm and Thelwall University of the Third Age Uke 4 Fun group.
The ukulele players wore new u3a blue and yellow polo shirts with added Christmas accessories.
They performed a mixture of both traditional carols like Ding Dong Merrily on High and more modern songs like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Everyone entered into the spirit singing along and shaking sleigh bells. A great time was had by all.
Rod King, co-ordinator of the Uke 4 Fun group said “We were delighted to visit, it was a mutually joyful experience. The power of music transcends all ages and is so special at this time of year”
The Uke 4 Fun group meet weekly in Lymm to play together, learn new songs and have fun. The u3a is a nationwide organization aimed at people no longer in full time employment and has a range of activities.
