Families across Warrington will soon benefit from a major investment to deliver Best Start family hubs, giving parents and carers easier access to vital support and services.
This funding will build on our existing work to transform children’s services, and follows the successful opening of our first family hub in Dallam earlier this year.
This funding will enable Warrington to build on the family hub offer and create warm, welcoming hubs that bring together a wide range of services for families, from pregnancy through to age 19 (or 25 for SEND).
The hubs will also provide a ‘front door’ to family help workers, ensuring vulnerable families can access joined-up services early, before problems escalate. By supporting early learning and development, the hubs will help more children reach a good level of development by age five, giving them the best start for success at school and beyond.
This approach brings together children’s, early years, education, and health services, embedding them in local communities, forming part of the government’s national commitment to give every child the Best Start in Life.
It will also build on our digital offer, expand current provision and address gaps, making family life easier and support more accessible.
Cllr Matt Smith, cabinet member for children’s, families and education, said: “This £1.9 million investment is a huge boost for Warrington and will make a real difference to families across our borough. By bringing services together under one roof, we’re making it easier for parents to get the help they need, when they need it.
“The launch of our first family hub in Dallam was a proud moment, and I’m excited to see this funding help us expand that support even further – giving every child the best possible start in life.”
