A Warrington-based bank has been recognised for its dedication to social impact after being shortlisted for an award celebrating its continued efforts to embed sustainable practices across the financial services sector.
Redwood Bank has been named a finalist in the Best Social Impact Award category at the upcoming Investors in the Environment Awards, a leading national sustainability accreditation scheme.
Alex John, ESG Manager said: “We’re incredibly proud to be recognised by the Investors in the Environment for our ongoing commitment to sustainability. At Redwood, we believe that responsible banking means going beyond financial performance. It’s about creating long-term positive impact for our customers, colleagues and communities.
“This recognition reflects the hard work of our team and reinforces our ambition to play a meaningful role in building a more sustainable financial industry.”
Owned and managed by the environmental charity PECT since 2010, iiE was established to bridge the gap between business and effective environmental management. The organisation has since worked with hundreds of companies to support sustainability through consultancy and accreditation.
The iiE Awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, November 20 at the KingsGate Conference Centre in Peterborough, bringing together business leaders and changemakers from across the UK’s credit and financial sectors and beyond.
The ceremony will follow a day of workshops and roundtable discussions as part of the iiE Sustainability Conference, featuring keynote speaker Archie Struthers, CEO of Nattergal, who has driven the company’s pioneering approach to building scalable private nature markets.
The event will be compered by Sarah Mukherjee, CEO of ISEP, who has been instrumental in implementing the Diverse Sustainability Initiative (DSI) strategy.
“We’re looking forward to celebrating the achievements of other like-minded organisations within the iiE community. Events like this are a great opportunity to share best practice and learn from industry leaders who are driving genuine change.”
