THE “Live at St Wilfrid’s” 2025 concert season will end on Thursday November 20 with a tribute to “King of Swing” Benny Goodman.

Phil Shotton will bring a 20-piece big band to St Wilfrid’s Church, Grappenhall to play music associated with the late, great jazz clarinettist.
Phil will take to the stage as clarinet soloist with a full set of brand new bespoke arrangements by Ronnie Bottomley – multi-award winner, drummer, arranger and big band leader.
Vocalist Adee Lifshitz will also be joining the band to perform songs famously duetted with the clarinet maestro.
Goodman (1909-1986) is credited with “making jazz respectable” with his famous 1938 Carnegie Hall concert. But he also regularly played and recorded classical music.

The concert commences at 7.30 pm and the usual interval refreshments will be available in the Annexe. Tickets are available on line at www.liveatstwilfrids.co.uk or from the following outlets:
Grappenhall Community Library – 01925 268077
Conway Phillips, Opticians, Warrington – 01925 633746
Or at the door on the night.
