WARRINGTON Rylands strengthened their position at the top of the table with a 2-0 win against Leek Town at the Quickline Logistics Arena on Saturday.

Two goals from George Waring in the first half were enough to secure the win and maintain Ryland’s unbeaten home run.
Warrington took control of the fixture but were slow to break down the Staffordshire side. They came close early on when Alex Kiwomya fired a power shot toward goal, but Dino Visser was well placed to prevent The Blues taking the lead.
Guy Hall was unstoppable down the left wing and his cross into the box broke the deadlock just after 30 minutes. Kiwomya was surrounded by the Leek defence but the ball bounced in front of Waring who slotted it past Visser and into the net.
Waring stretched out his long legs to score the second goal from another Hall cross in the final minute of the first half.

Leek Town tried gallantly to create a comeback after the break but did little to test the ability of Luke Pilling in goal. Tom Curl did produce an incredible shot that flew past Pilling, but the post came to the rescue for the home side.
Rylands were dangerous on the counter-attack, particularly after the inclusion of Jake Burton off the bench. Burton and Kiwomya were a constant threat to the opposition as they chased every ball and allowed Leek little time on the ball.
Next up is a journey to manager Neil Reynolds’ former club, FC United of Manchester, next Saturday. United currently sit in second place, just two points behind Warrington, but have three games in hand.
